Winds: East-southeast at 12 to 21 mph, reaching as high a 30 mph during heavier showers, as
well as over open waters and in elevated areas.
Seas: 1.2 – 1.8m or 4 – 6ft. Therefore small craft operators should continue to exercise
caution.
Weather Forecast for St. Kitts & Nevis: Mostly cloudy skies with periods of showers,
some of which could be moderate to locally heavy at times accompanied by some widespread
thunderstorms.
Weather tonight: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a 70 percent or high chance of showers and
a moderate chance of some evening thunderstorms developing.
Eastern Caribbean Forecast: The combination of a tropical wave, the leading edge of a
surface trough and the favourable portion of an upper level trough will continue to produce mostly
cloudy conditions with periods of showers and thunderstorms across portions of the Leewards and
British Virgin Islands during the next 24 hours. Some showers could be moderate to heavy at times,
accompanied by widespread thunderstorms and gusty winds during that time. These conditions are
expected to spread across the rest of the Eastern Caribbean later today into tonight as the trailing
end of the surface trough sweeps across these islands during that time.
